Investigation 2: Rocks and Weathering

Key Question: How do different rock types weather?

Goals for this investigation:

1. Students will explain how the weathering of rock and soil contributes to the reshaping of landscapes.

2. Studentswill explain how rocks can be broken down by both chemical and physical weathering.

3. Students will demonstrate how to use models to duplicate weathering processes on rocks..

Throughout the week students will work on different parts of their investigation. For example tonight, students will use the title of the investigation and the key question to write a Purpose and Hypothsis.
