Key Question: How do fossil fuels form?

Standard 3b: When fuel is consumed, most of the energy released becomes heat energy.

Goals:

Students will be able to explain, describe, or demonstrate:

1. Fossil fuels are those formed in the ground from the remains of dead plants and animals.
2. It takes millions of years to form fossil fuels.
3. Oil, natual gas and coal are fossil fuels.

Read and answer questions 1-10.
Complete Section Review questions 1-3.

Tuesday
Cornell Notes and Annotations due Wednesday 3/7/2012
Read passage and generate one question and one annotation for each paragraph. Write a summary about what you learned.
