Humanities Homework- Monday

Students have a packet of articles about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  For homework, they should read one of the articles (their choice).  At the end of reading it, students should identify the main idea of what the read in 1-2 sentences and jot it down.  We will be using the main ideas in our lesson on Tuesday.    Here is a short video about main idea that we watched in class.  Of course, reading the article would also count for their reading log homework, so it's a double whammy!

The Percy Jackson project is due next Thursday, April 7th.  Students are encouraged to turn in what they have ahead of time.

Lastly, April is Poetry Month!  I want to put up a bulletin board with beloved poems in the hallway to get students excited about jumping into poetry.   If you have a favorite poem that you would like me to post, send me a copy of it via email (eileen.leckenby@larchmontcharter.org).  And of course, students are encouraged to do the same.  :)
