The homework this week will again be the Reading Log. Students should read 20-30 minutes Monday-Thursday. I passed the Reading Log out to students today. It looks a bit different this week- parents only have to sign it once, instead of each night. The Reading Log is worth 5 points towards the English Language Arts grade, and will be collected on Friday.
Today, I introduced a project to the students in class. Here is the project as a Google Doc.
I am hoping to walk the class to the Pio Pico Koreatown library on Wednesday or Thursday to begin the research process. All they need to do in the meantime is select a topic from the list on the project paper. However, some students were eager to start researching, which of course they are welcome to do! There will be a field trip slip coming home tomorrow, once I work out the date with the library.
